Canary Islands New Subsidy Program for 2025

Overview

The Canary Islands government has announced a new subsidy program for 2025 aimed at supporting local farmers cultivating aloe vera and olives. This initiative, part of the European-funded POSEI program, encourages sustainable agriculture on the islands by providing financial aid per hectare. Beneficiaries must be active farmers with lands in Canary Islands, meeting specific eligibility criteria.

Funding Details

  • The total funding is approximately 83,151 euros.
  • It is divided between two crops:
    • Nearly 17,818 euros for aloe vera.
    • Over 65,333 euros for olive cultivation.
  • The maximum aid per hectare is capped at 550 euros.
  • An additional 10% bonus is available for farmers already receiving rural development support, such as young farmer assistance.

Application Process

Farmers interested in the subsidy must submit their applications online within one month of the publication date, through the Canary Islands’ official electronic portal.

Program Objectives

  • Promote crop diversification.
