Canary Islands Government Launches Scholarships for European Affairs
Overview
The Canary Islands government has launched a call for five scholarships aimed at fostering expertise in European affairs, set to be awarded in 2026.
The initiative targets:
- EU nationals residing in the Canaries for at least four years
- Holding relevant university degrees obtained within the last five years
- Not previously benefiting from similar scholarships
Types of Awards
Two main types of awards are offered:
- Academic scholarships for postgraduate studies at the College of Europe and other EU-based centers
- Practical internships in Brussels at the Canary Islands government delegation
Objectives
- To strengthen local ties with European institutions
- To promote advanced education on European issues among residents
Special Conditions
If no candidates are admitted to the College of Europe, the three academic scholarships will be redirected to other EU institutions.
Internship Details
- Funded with nearly ā¬30,000 each
- Involves bilingual work in Spanish, French, and English

- Applications must be submitted online by December 17, 2025
- Applicants should apply through the Canary Islands governmentās digital portal
- Selection results will be published online
