Canary Islands Government Announces New Financial Aid for University Students

The Canary Islands government has opened a new call for financial aid aimed at university students residing in the islands. These grants help cover travel costs for students who need to study on a different island within the Canary archipelago or elsewhere in Spain and Europe, especially for those participating in Erasmus exchanges.
Students must have lived in the Canary Islands since at least January 2024, be enrolled in public universities, and be taking at least 45 credits in a mix of presencial or semi-presencial classes.
Funding Details
- Total funding: 700,000 euros
- Grants range from: 120 to 360 euros, depending on:
- The island of residence
- Study destination
- For students attending universities in:
- Gran Canaria or Tenerife, the amounts vary based on their home island
- Outside the Canary Islands, students can receive up to 360 euros
