Canary Islands Government Announces Permanent Hiring of Selected Candidates in Public Administration
Canary Islands Government Appoints Candidates to Permanent Positions
The Canary Islands government has officially appointed several selected candidates to permanent positions within its public administration. This move follows a series of rigorous selection processes aimed at reducing temporary employment and ensuring more stable, quality public service.
Candidates have had to meet strict requirements and complete necessary formalities, including signing fixed-term contracts online between November 4 and 10, 2025, with their official start dates set from November 21, 2025, to early December.
Broader Employment Reforms
This decision is part of a broader effort to cut down on precarious temporary jobs, in line with recently enacted laws aimed at improving employment stability in the public sector.
The approved candidates will undergo a mandatory two-year period of active service, during which their positions are protected from being temporarily vacated or transferred, ensuring greater continuity in public service.
Process Adjustments and Outcomes
The government also suspended the application process for some candidates due to force majeure reasons, allowing time for adjustments.
Furthermore, those who do not succeed in this process will be notified and their temporary contracts will end accordingly.
Commitment to Transparency and Stability
This development reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to transparency and efficiency in public sector employment, impacting residents by promising a more stable, reliable administration.
