Canary Islands Government Announces New Funding Drive for 2026 Campaign
The Canary Islands government has announced a new funding drive to support local farmers and growers for the 2026 campaign.

- Tubers
- Flowers
- Live plants
- Specific focus on exports outside the islands but within the European Union.
The initiative includes direct subsidies of 143 euros per ton for tropical fruits like papaya, mango, and avocado.
- Targeted support for potato growers, with aid amounts based either on:
- Cultivated hectares, or
- Actual sales,
- Whichever is higher.
- Support for tropical pineapple producers, with a package of up to €3,000 per hectare, aimed at boosting the local pineapple industry.

- Funding source: European Agricultural Guarantee Fund.
