The Spanish government, through the Canary Islands' Education, Sports, and Culture Department, has announced a new round of grants aimed at covering travel expenses for sports activities. With a budget of nearly 1.3 million euros, the funds will be distributed across three periods:

• September to December 2025
• January to April 2026
• May to August 2026

This initiative aims to support athletes and sports organizations in traveling for competitions and training.

Application Periods and Deadlines

Applicants can submit their applications during designated windows for each period:

• For travel between September and December 2025, applications are accepted from January 12-22, 2026.
• For travel from January to April 2026, the window is May 4-14, 2026.
• For trips between May and August 2026, applications are open from September 1-11, 2026.

Funding and Approval

• The grants are conditional on sufficient funding availability.
• Grants will be announced through official publications and notices on the government’s electronic platforms.
• The approval process will be handled by the Director General of the local sports authority.
• There may be adjustments due to budget changes.
