University of La Laguna Announces Final Job Assignments for Library, Archive, and Museum Assistants
University of La Laguna Staff Position Allocation
Finalization of Positions
The University of La Laguna has finalized the allocation of positions within its Archives, Libraries, and Museums staff.
On February 13, 2026, the university approved the definitive list of job assignments, which now officially dictates where staff will serve starting March 20, 2026.
This move follows an earlier provisional assignment made in January, giving staff ten days to contest or appeal the decisions.
Process and Transparency
The process underscores the university’s commitment to transparency and organizational clarity as it reallocates roles.
Positions are considered voluntary and irrenunciable unless individuals secure a new appointment through a public call before taking their new posts.
Staff members will cease their current roles on March 19 and assume their new duties the following day.
Legal and Administrative Procedures
Legal channels remain open for challenges, with the resolution noting that employees can file appeals within prescribed deadlines.
The university will be closed from late March to early April, August, and December to early January, during which time any claims must be submitted through official electronic or postal channels.
Purpose of Restructuring
The restructuring aims to:
- Streamline specialized support in academic and cultural services
- Ensure better resource allocation within the university’s key areas.
