University of La Laguna Announces New Doctoral Internship Scholarship Program

The University of La Laguna has revealed a new scholarship program aimed at supporting doctoral students in participating in international internships through the Erasmus+ KA-171 action.

This initiative specifically targets students who are enrolled during the 2026 academic year and are planning to undertake practical placements at partner universities outside the European Union.

Development and Objectives

While initially not included in the university's 2026 strategic funding plan, the program was later incorporated after discussions among the Canary Islands universities.

The program aims to:

  • Strengthen institutional ties with universities and research centers in non-EU countries

Funding and Support

Funding for this initiative comes from SEPIE, totaling nearly 24,000 euros.

Students may receive:

  • Up to 700 euros per month for a maximum of five months
  • Travel assistance that varies depending on the destination's distance
  • Additional support of 250 euros per month for students with recognized opportunities needs

Application Process

Applications must be submitted online within 10 working days following the official bulletin publication, with details available on the university's electronic portal.
