The University of La Laguna has announced a funding opportunity aimed at supporting research stays for its faculty and predoctoral staff. With a total budget of 386,000 euros, the scheme offers grants for period-long research visits, ranging from three to six months, at both national and international research centers.
The main goal is to promote academic exchange and research development outside the Canary Islands, excluding corporate R&D departments.
Funding Details
- Grants can provide up to 2,400 euros monthly to cover accommodation costs.
- Travel reimbursement based on destination:
- 200 euros within the Iberian Peninsula
- 600 euros across Europe
- 1,200 euros elsewhere
- Insurance coverage includes medical coverage and accident protection during the stay.
- Funds are available for use between January and November 2025.
- Stays must be continuous and at a single host institution.
Application Process
- Applications must be submitted electronically within ten working days from the bulletin's publication.
- Each applicant can apply only once.
- Applicants must choose between two support categories:
- Faculty members
- Predoctoral staff
- Grants are compatible with other funding sources, provided the total does not exceed actual costs.
- Payments are made upfront.
- Formal proof of the stay is required for reimbursement.
